“Then they said to one another, ‘In truth we are guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the distress of his soul, when he begged us and we did not listen. That is why this distress has come upon us.'”
Joseph’s brothers believe that their conduct regarding him and abandonment are the reason for their present misfortune. They carry guilt for their actions which taints their perception of reality- anything that goes wrong is directly related to selling Joseph.
When we sin, we carry that guilt with us, tainting our perspectives also. The choices we make today will follow us for years to come- for better or for worse.
LORD, help me to make wise decisions today that will have a positive impact in the future- not just for me and my family, but for those around me also.
