What is Compelling Christian Fiction?

Our world is an ever-devolving place that is in a perpetual state of disharmony and dysfunction. The issues change through the years, but not the basics. We live in a fallen world in which we are at war within ourselves to do good instead of evil. We sin against God, against ourselves, and against others, creating further friction with our neighbors.

But in all things, at all times, our hope is constant.

We know through the life of Jesus Christ that we have been created by a loving Father God who sent His son to redeem us from our sinful nature.

Jesus was, and is, the Word made flesh. God sent His Son as the embodiment of everything He Is so that we can know our heavenly Father. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” He lived a perfect life, one that was free of sin and that encouraged love for all people. His sacrifice gave us an opportunity to have relationship with God.

Jesus often spoke in parables to help His audience relate to characters and situations. These stories enabled them to realize truths or to challenge social norms. Jesus’ goal was to help His audience understand who God is and God’s incredible love.

As our world struggles to make sense of the chaos, our purpose as Christians is to have relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ and to share the good news of Jesus with the world.

One opportunity to engage with the world is through fiction.

Jesus used stories to help us understand who God is, and I believe that fiction is a gift from God that enables us to make sense of our world, ourselves, and each other.

Jesus spoke to the issues and questions His audience raised, and that is what we should be attempting to do with Christian Fiction. We need stories that encourage us to ask questions, engage in conversation, and relate with one another as we live out our faith in Jesus Christ.

We need Compelling Christian Fiction.

This is where the blog comes in.

My goal is to become more like Jesus and the purpose of this blog is to share my journey with you so that you too can become more like Jesus.

I would like to share my Bible reading reflections with you and have conversations with you about God’s word. I want to encourage you to read God’s word and to seek him with your soul, mind, and strength.

I also want to share reviews of Christian Fiction novels with you- stories that ask the difficult questions and ring true with the modern Christian reader.

Finally, as a writer, my hope is to share my own novels with you that fulfill the mission of Compelling Christian Fiction.

Thank you for visiting this page. I’d love to keep in touch with you! Please leave your comments, ask your questions, and share your thoughts on the blog.
